Raffle Baskets (updated 8/30/25)
Raffle Baskets
Who doesn’t adore winning a raffle basket? No one that I know. Making a raffle basket is a lot of fun, but winning a raffle basket is over the moon happiness. Let’s get in the spirit and make a Raffle Basket for the 2025 FCQ Quilt Show!
Contacts:
Sarah Ahlgren, daytripfun@hotmail.com, 708-247-7192 and
Mary Kay Van de Graaff, van_de_graaff@hotmail.com, 630-661-6773
Purpose and Objective:
To raise money for the guild. All monies raised from ticket sales goes directly to the guild. At the Quilt Show in 2023, $2,460 was raised; we would like to exceed that amount this year. Members of FCQ benefit directly from the sale of raffle basket tickets through not only great speakers and workshops, but money that is put into reserves to pay for our meeting location and other necessities.
Who Can Contribute:
We will accept raffle baskets from any member of our guild, any group from our guild such as a Bee, or any vendor. We will also accept a gift basket donated from a retail store.
What are the Specifics:
All baskets must be wrapped prior to drop off
Drop off for all baskets will be Friday night (September 19) at the school, NORTH ENTRANCE, approximately 6:00 p.m.
A Description Sheet must be returned to Sarah Ahlgren AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (daytripfun@hotmail.com). The form is available here or contact Sarah Ahlgren.
PLEASE BE CERTAIN TO IDENTIFY YOUR BASKET WHEN DROPPING IT OFF WITH AN ATTACHED REMOVABLE LABEL STATING WHO THE DONOR IS AND THE THEME OF THE BASKET. Since description sheets will be delivered in advance this year, we will need to be able to match the basket to the donor on our list.
No alcohol, spirits or wine, the school does not permit it inside their doors
No broken objects within the basket please; be sure to pad any fragile items sufficient for transport
Food is acceptable, however, 1) it cannot be expired; and 2) it must be sealed within the wrapped basket -- no open food items. Remember, we are in a public space and we do not want to subject people with allergies to mayhem when they least expect it
Please list any common allergens contained within the basket on the description sheet
What is Accepted:
Think outside of the box, you can use a cooler, a wooden box, a pail or a beach bag. Although baskets are always welcome, you can use a different vessel for your collection of goodies. Let your imaginations loose!
· A basket for children with toys, puzzles and books
· A back yard BBQ
· A food basket with crackers jellies and jams
· A tail-gate themed basket
· A gardening themed wooden crate
· A tea time party
· A Rainy day basket with books, writing utensils, puzzles, coloring books or scrapbooking supplies
How Do I Win:
The drawing for all baskets is 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 21. You need not be present. If you are present, you can go home with your basket; if not, we will call you to arrange a date and time for pickup.
Let’s all get in the spirit and donate a raffle basket.
