Supporting Quilts of Valor
Our support for Quilts of Valor began last year, with the guild’s challenge to make “50 for 50” quilts as part of our 50th anniversary. Since then, we have formed a QoV bee to promote and coordinate the making and awarding of quilts.
2024 QOV 50 for 50 Challenge: An Overwhelming Success, Exceeding THREE TIMES Our Goal !
Faithful Circle Quilters hit a grand slam home run in 2024! We asked our members if they thought the guild could make 50 Quilts of Valor for U.S. veterans in the year of our guild’s 50th anniversary. They answered with a resounding “YES” and more than did it, making more than 150 quilts!!
As we wrap up the QOV 50 for 50 Challenge, we will have tripled the goal, making more than 150 quilts. We have awarded over 90 of those quilts to veterans and active service members, and in total will have scheduled approximately 115 awards.
In 2025 we will record this historic project with a picture archive for the guild. In addition, we will award the remaining quilts to veterans who have not received a Quilt of Valor.
This project has been a profoundly moving and fulfilling experience. Thank you to all who contributed and shared in it. Your generosity of skill, time, and resources has touched many.

A Special “Thank You” to our Local Quilt Shops
In 2024 Faithful Circle Quilters launched a once-in-a-lifetime challenge to make 50 Quilts of Valor to be awarded to local veterans. The guild far surpassed expectations by tripling the goal and making over 150 quilts.
Our journey was generously supported by our local quilt stores. Quilters Quest and Top Shelf Quilts provided time and space for QOV quilters to gather for several productive day-long sew-ins. They graciously welcomed us to well-supplied classrooms, provided necessary sewing resources, and even had coffee to keep us on task. Our local quilt stores are our lifeline in so many ways. Please support them and thank them when you do.
