Catherine Redford: Walking Foot Quilting - Beyond the Ditch
Learn how to finish your quilts on a domestic machine while enjoying all the control of your walking foot. We will start with a brief discussion of preparing your tops for quilting including marking and basting. Then we will make stitched samples of different styles including modern grids, matchstick quilting and spirals. Finish with a look at Catherine’s work to inspire you to go home & turn your tops into quilts.
Mastering Curved Piecing
9AM - 12PM Adding curves to a quilt has never been easier. We will cover cutting curves and three different ways to piece curves so that you can try them all and find your favorite way. Jennifer Wagner, Snapdragon Quilting will join us for this half day workshop.
Reverse Applique with mini Moons
1pm - 4pm Learn a unique technique that makes perfectly smooth small circles with hidden stitching. Bonus: An amazing presentation on how the use of contrast and block layout completely change the look of this miniature quilt.
LOGistics - Pillow or Table Mat - STITCHING WITH ECLECTIC TEXTILES
Learn to sew using alternative textures with Lynn Schmitt, author of The Art of Mixing Textiles In Quilts. Our LOGistics pattern can be made as either a large pillow or table mat. The project features mixed textiles; wool, silk dupioni, silk matka, wovens, batiks, traditional and contemporary cottons. Learn to mix different types of fabric with traditional cotton; learn the inherent properties of alternative textiles, what to do and what NOT to do. Oh the possibilities when you begin to add what were once considered forbidden textures into your quilting and sewing projects.

The Kendra Tallboy Wallet is the definition of Slim, Stacked, and Stylish. In this beginner‑friendly class, students turn cork and cotton into a tall, modern wallet with vertical card slots, a clean snap closure, and a full‑length cash pocket that keeps everything organized. The project builds confidence with cork while teaching practical techniques that makers can use again and again. Everyone leaves with a finished wallet that looks boutique‑ready and feels amazing in the hand.

Re - A Modular FPP Workshop
Re - A Modular FPP Workshop
Join us for this workshop featuring Giucy Giuce's pattern RE. Currently the pattern is only available through the workshop. Re is a modular pattern in which the sewist decides what size blades (from 3 choices) they would like to use and also the frequency in which the blades appear. Make the blades the same size, make them all different, leave spaces. This creates countless variations! Giucy Giuce will share his tips and tricks for best practices when foundation paper piecing and sewing curves.
Three Dimensional Flowers
This is a technique class. You will be making several different fabric origami flower blossoms. I will provide you with patterns and directions for 9 different flowers (Daffodil, Wild Begonia, Columbine, Dogtooth Violet, Dogwood, Snowdrop, Fountain Plant, Orchid, & Corn Flower). You will then be able to design your own wall hanging, quilt, table runner, table mat, mug rug, etc. This is your chance to play and design something original.
Patterns come from Kumiko Sudo’s books “Fantasies & Flowers” (1999) and “Fabled Flowers” (1996). Both books are out of print, however you may find them on eBay or Amazon if you want copies.
Machine Quilting with Rulers on a Domestic Sewing Machine (repeat)
Using a ruler is a great way to quilt smooth straight lines or curves without messing up the “flow” of free motion quilting. If you’ve been wondering how to add ruler work to your domestic machine quilting repertoire, this workshop is for you. There will be two workshops with a maximum of only 15 students in each. This means more one on one time with the teachers. You will get a great deal of practice and mentoring in this workhop. Join Debbie and Bobbi for a very valuable workhop. Classes taught on Oct 24 and October 25 are the same class. Sign up for the one date that works best for you.
