FCQ 2025-26 Workshops and Quilting Events
Three Dimensional Flowers
This is a technique class. You will be making several different fabric origami flower blossoms. I will provide you with patterns and directions for 9 different flowers (Daffodil, Wild Begonia, Columbine, Dogtooth Violet, Dogwood, Snowdrop, Fountain Plant, Orchid, & Corn Flower). You will then be able to design your own wall hanging, quilt, table runner, table mat, mug rug, etc. This is your chance to play and design something original.
Patterns come from Kumiko Sudo’s books “Fantasies & Flowers” (1999) and “Fabled Flowers” (1996). Both books are out of print, however you may find them on eBay or Amazon if you want copies.

Clinton, IL – The Salt Creek Patchmakers Quilt Guild is excited to announce their annual show, “Sew Out of This World”, taking place on Friday and Saturday, March 6-7, 2026, at Little Galilee Christian Camp in Clinton. Open from 9 AM to 4 PM each day, this year’s event invites quilt enthusiasts and newcomers alike to experience the art and tradition of quilting. Admission is $8, cash or check only, with free entry for children under 12.
The show will feature a variety of quilts on display, including the Guild Round Robin Challenge and UFO’s-Finished! categories. Attendees can explore a range of inspiring designs and techniques in these non-voting exhibits, showcasing the creativity and skill of Guild members. The Quilting Expo will host vendors offering a variety of fabrics, tools, yarns, and notions for sale. Additionally, visitors can browse gently used quilting supplies, books, and other crafting items as Guild members “de-stash” their sewing rooms. The Patchmaker’s Boutique will offer a selection of unique, handmade quilted items crafted by Guild members-perfect for gift giving or adding a personal touch to your home.

Boro stitching is a Japanese textile art form that involves repairing and reworking clothing and bedding using scraps of fabric and running stitches.
The story of boro in Japan is the story of lives lived in extreme poverty, by hardworking people who had little, but still admired beauty and kept/repaired their valuable textiles—not just for years, but for lifetimes.
